Exercises to Reduce Love Handles
Love handles are the layer of fat which accumulates around a person's hip and are clearly seen on the both sides of the abdomen area. It's notoriously difficult to get rid of. 1. Cardio exercises are a must. There is no avoiding this, as cardio exercises burn fat faster than anabolic exercises. Cardio exercises include jogging, swimming and climbing the stairs. These exercises are useful in increasing your metabolism rate which helps to lessen the fat from your body. But each exercise session should not be less than 20-30 minutes or it won't be as effective. Your body needs to sustain a certain level of activity for a period of time. 2. To complement your cardio exercises, it may be a good idea to tone the abdominal muscles. Begin by lying flat on your back for the crunches. Slowly raise your upper torso from the ground. Twist and touch your opposite knee with your elbow. You should raise just your upper part of your body while the lower back remains on the floor. This will minimize strain on the lower back while isolating the abdominal muscles.
3. Stand on your feet, turn and take a twist on both sides while keeping the legs and knees still. Be careful not to twist the hips too much, and don't be too forceful in your turns.
4. Again lie flat on your back. Keep your hands on the both sides and keep them still. Then lift your legs from the floor one at a time. This is considered a rather advanced exercise so don't be discouraged if you find that you have difficulties initially. The lower abs area should ache the next day, so give it a bit of a rest before you start doing this set of exercise again.
With a bit of self-discipline in exercising, you should be able to see a difference when you pinch yourself around the tummy area. As your waistline reduces, give yourself a pat on the back and spur yourself on to continue with the exercise routines.
